"Johnny Rotten" was such an ass. I can't take anyone seriously who appears on network TV and says nothing.

Agree with you on that one. Tom Snyder looks the intelligent and dignified grown up whilst the 2 'punks' look like a pair of spoilt brats. What a pair of childish big kids. Anti-social without provocation! Only children or idiots act like that!

true on that last part, but that's what lydon did for most of his interviews in the late 70s and early 80s. I don't know. I've seen Tom Snyder in better interviews, but I suppose this is the best he could do with this "material," if you will.

sorry, but tom won. he hammered them like a pro. john and keith look like a couple of sullen teenage schoolboys who got hauled in to the principal's office for swearing in class.
  8. by ESHE — @ 16:54:08

"is it a band?" Wow. Research, much? This is the most ridiculous nothing fight. I'm glad PiL won.
  9. by Farrah — @ 17:17:07

    doodah
  10. by Aghna — @ 17:40:06

That is probably the wrongest thing I've ever read on YouTube. Which is saying a lot.
  11. by Anton — @ 18:03:05

    Keith looks so uncomfortable
  12. by BICH — @ 18:26:04

    your welcome my friend ;)
  13. by Kendriek — @ 18:49:03

let's agree to disagree. after all "music" is a personal thing. maybe i didn't appreciate the punk thing. still, to this day there is something pretentious about lydon and he just irks me. let's leave it at that. thanks for the discussion.
  14. by Quesnel — @ 19:12:02

    Predictable English narrow view. *yawn*
  15. by Eadbert — @ 19:35:01

oooh sorry mate about that but you still havnt done my request and you still dont know what punk is about
  16. by Kenneth — @ 19:58:00

Yes! love the clash, jam and ian dury (not punk but around that time)
  17. by Evangeline — @ 20:20:59

not "american". born in scotland. grew up in london (east end) from 1961 to 1987. hung out at the marquee. saw the bill grundy interview live on tv. i know what i'm talking about. lydon is no more than a shock performer.
  18. by Zak — @ 20:43:58

never heard so many bullshit together! i think sex pistols was actually the first EMO band in the history.
  19. by Tamtun — @ 21:06:57

srsly man there is something horribly wrong with you
  20. by NOACH — @ 21:29:56

well youre american so it all comes clear americans where never in the real scene unless you lived in england try listening to some exploited or crass (real punk from england) and tell me theres no talent real punk is more than music its about expressing yourself not selling out and making people like your music
  21. by Torben — @ 21:52:55

Actually "Punk" with talent was "The Clash".
  22. by OSZKAR — @ 22:15:54

lydon is being an douchebag as usual like the world revolves around him....pil was a company....lol nothing to do with music, must be furniture removal then.
  23. by Edgard — @ 22:38:53

this is a classic interview though
  24. by Senet — @ 23:01:52

please enlighten me. let me guess, you probably think punk "music" was really edgy. i have loved real music and genuine musical talent all of my life and was very sad and bored when punk arrived. by the way i was older than you probably are now when that happened, so i lived through the whole thing and was old enough to realize what was going on. it was nothing new. musicians have been expressing themselves before you were born, with the exception of punk, since no real talent was involved.
  25. by Ike — @ 23:24:51

you obviously dont know what punk is about lol i bet you think greenday are punk
