I'd like to see Alfonso Cuaron do Ghost in the Shell. Children of Men was impressive as hell.

Last movie I watched that Spielberg was part of was the last Indiana Jones and that one sucked hard, I hope that he does not get involved with GITS. I can only imagine them making it PG-13 for a wider audience :(

DiCaprio will be only producer of "Akira", the director will be Ruari Robinson, creator of short movie "Silent City"

    nooooooo!!!!..... ;_;

For the most part, I agree with you, homemarks. I just don't think Spielburg as a director has the capacity for a good GiTS movie in him. I just don't. His earlier work was really great, but lately, well... nobody can be the best forever. The laughing man will weep.

I dont know if i should cry or not, Akira Re-do by Decrapo, hope his Directing skills are not as bad as his acting skills then. Ghost in the shell re-do by Speilberg, maybe Battle Angel Re-do by James Cameron from what i hear should be good, its been on his back burner for the last 15years using Avatar"(not the last air bender) as a tester for his new 3D system. NGE By Peter Jackson not sure tbh Robotech by Tobey McGuire, should have the most do-ability level due to the plot settings

    live action would ruin it...
  8. by Bemelle — @ 10:46:40

yea, get mamoru oshii (director of the first ghost in the shell movie) or Kenji Kamiyama

    dumb comment

Transformers was terrible. Really. It was. It looked incredibly awesome. But it was pretty pointless and lame which totally ruined the kickass special effects. War of the Worlds was also pretty lame, which saddened me.
  11. by Nashara — @ 11:55:37

    1. Transformers - fail (effects rule, not the movie) 2. E.T - hate that movie 3. War of the Worlds - epic fail 4. Dragoball... - Oo IMHO

no one can destory it like he could

"It IS original to take an anime and alter and change it for the North American big screen." and what so original in it? there is no new idea or concept... its just show. those who watched anime or read manga of GITS or AKIRA or robo something (XD) will not even criticise seriusly the hollywood work becouse its just showoff and marketing. I think one day America will get tired of the same garbage that hollywood makes now and some good directors and writers will show.. one day. ))

I can't believe Spielburg going director ghost in the shell I'm so piss off. fuck you Spielburg and please die.
  15. by Cary — @ 13:27:33

    This is Steven Spielburgh dude
  16. by Marleena — @ 13:50:32

I dont know wat u Ghost in the Shell fans are complaining about! Steven Spielburgh is frikin Awesome in making movies. He helped in Transformers (best fuckin movie ever), E.T, War of the Worlds and etc....I wish Steven could direct Dragoball....Now that! movie is wat we should be worried about. Hollywood is already fucking it up.

  18. by Dell — @ 14:36:30

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Why! If it isn't broke, don't fix it!
  19. by Mansfield — @ 14:59:29

    Knowing hollywood executives, they will
  20. by AIDOIOS — @ 15:22:28

I don't mind the big screen, live action adaptations. Its a way to update the same stories, but ultimately i see this as a chance to give the original properties more exposure. It happen with the movie, "THE RING."Before you knew it they put the DVD of Ringu in blockbuster and it got rented it out. Common american folks that wouldn't even know how to get their hands on these animes will now know that they exists and add to the fan base. So its not all bad
  21. by Lorimar — @ 15:45:27

I'm a little skeptical to any of these features being any good. See, Spielberg raped Indiana Jones, and I'm fearful that he'll do that to Kusanagi aswell. Tobey McGuire and Robotech seems like a HIGHLY unlikely pairing, now if it was say Ridley Scott or someone along those lines then I'd be convinced. The only one I have high hopes for is the Akira movie, that movie has been dying for a live-action incarnation for as long as Watchmen has.
  22. by AZIBO — @ 16:08:26

Can all the idiots that say Hollywood can't come up with any original ideas please do the world a favor and stop breathing? It IS original to take an anime and alter and change it for the North American big screen. Please stop bashing Hollywood. It's the only worthwhile thing you americans have contributed to the world and bashing it just proves the talk that Americans are all idiots.
  23. by Raananah — @ 16:31:25

i want a Ghost In The Shell live-action movie bc its always been one of my fav animes.. but idl how this will work bc Hollywood tends to make movies based on a comic, game, anime, etc horrible.. just go watch Tron >.> it also depends on who plays Motoko Kusinagi which idk how they pullin that off XD
  24. by Belle — @ 16:54:24

i swear to god if they ruin GITS im going to be really pissed off i swear to god they better make it fucking god or do nothing with it . because its already perfect.
  25. by TLACAELEL — @ 17:17:23

Hollywood at the cutting edge of anything?!! More like sad, watered down, over-hyped retreads of where everyone else has already gone.
