What I mostly like is Bobby Timmons compositions. Pity most of them haven't become standards.

Shoul' hate it Lee had to die so young. Him and Freddie were the most creative and inspirational trumpet players of that era along with Clifford Brown. You could say they were some of the most of all time. Hah. I'm seriously diggin Shorter on this cut. He opens up so much to more than just licks like a stereotypical sax player. That's what made him, Trane, Dex, and Sonny so great.

    got to love the trumpet.

My pleasure to identify these great players. I caught Art Blakey live in LA in 1980. What a performance! Peter

..I just looked at other stuff she's done, don't bother. It was all a mainstream pop nightmare.

Heard the best version of this tune.. it was a bass / vocal duo. I know it sounds iffy, but it was soooo cool. By "Coco Love Alcorn"..

Our vocal jazz group, "Past to Present," from Amarillo did his song acapella this year. It has such a great melody!! This is an awesome recording of it.
