That is a good question, I have a lightscribe DVD burner that I use all the time and I have had it for about 8months now. It works like a charm, I have not had any problems. It cost me $49 so if it last 6 months more than it paid for itself. I would not worry about it just get one and try it out. Thanks for your question, I'm sure others have the same.

im wondering a normal dvd burner only has a short life span compared to a normal cd burner, will the light scribe burner have even less of a life span then a standard dvd burner ?
  5. by Rahi — @ 11:11:03

you need a dvd/cd burner that has lightscribe built in
  6. by Crisanna — @ 11:34:02

This is off the subject of lightscribe but I downloaded some videos thru Limewire and when I tried to view them I needed to use other software to view them I could'nt view them on my dvd player either.I have a HP with lightscribe software. But I was wondering if you could direct me to a reliable site to d/l videos and music.

I'm really glad I was able to help, and I appreciate your comments. One last thing I wanted to mention which is not in the video but is on my website, is that you can also get the disc in solid colors like, red, green, blue, yellow. This does not mean it will print in color it is just that it will have a blue background or red depending on the disc.

Great video.Being a novice I thought the dvds were read from the top and not the shiny side on the bottom but now I know, thanks to your video.Again, thanks for the info.

Thank you for your comments, I appreciate it. Yes you can spread the image over the whole disc and and others on top of the another image, so yes it works like layers. It grabs the final image and it prepares it to print so it will in effect flatten the image to print. You also have the option in roxio to save the project so you can use over and over again, and it will allow you to move the images around. Hope this answered your questions and thank you.

Loved your info very much. Can you spread the image over the entire disc? And does the software offer layers so you can add copy over the image then flatten and print? Thanks your work is much appreciated.

Andy thank you for commenting and yes I failed to mention that the CD's come in the following solid colors, RED, ORANGE, YELLOW, BLUE, and GREEN. I really did not mention it because when you go to the store most of what you find are those gold standard dvd's. But anyway thank you. Anything that can help my viewers make a better purchase is welcomed. Thanks.
