ANY INJURIES SUSTAINED FROM USING THIS GUIDE ARE YOUR OWN FAULT. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INJURIES SUSTAINED FROM THE USE OF THIS VIDEO. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. THIS IS ONLY A GUIDE. PLEASE LEARN IN A GYMNASTICS CENTER. ----END WARNING DISCLAIMER---- A unique backflip tutorial that uses both video examples, and instructional text. We teach Sil how to do a backflip (who has only ever done them on trampolines before), and you can follow the steps one by one, to see what you are doing wrong! NOTE: Turning your palms to the outside in the set is personal preference - Some people like to do it this way, as it can help you lock your shoulders when you jump up, but it is not necessary. Also this tutorial is designed for trickers or other athletic people interested in learning how to do a basic backflip - if you are a gymnast you should learn the absolute "gymnast" way at a gymnastics centre (focuses alot more on form) Finally, this tutorial was created through the knowledge of many people, I do not claim to be a professional coach who knows everything about backflips. We created this tutorial and the concepts in it from just dinking around at open nights at various gyms club. When we first learned backflips we were told to just try it, and thats what happened - it was from there that we learned how to spot and do them better. Feel free to ask me any questions on how to do backflips. And don't forget to rate! :-) Good luck and stay safe! Remember to use a spotter at first! How to Use Skype: A Video Tutorial

Filed under: Videos — Admin @

[See More] http://www.mys.ca/volunter/how-to Although Skype states their VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) application is relatively "easy to download, install and use", a visual tutorial may help those with installing and using this program for the first time. As apart of the best practises publication about Online Volunteerism being developed by Randy Tyler, MYS has facilitated the creation of many how-to videos. In this context, Macdonald Youth Services (MYS) is pleased to share a video tutorial that provides an overview of how to download, install, configure and use Skype 2.5 for Windows. MYS extends their thanks to online volunteer Yu Cheng, who now lives in China, for creating the approximate nine minute video. Using a combination of Skype's voice, chat and file transfer features, Macdonald Youth Services demonstrated that such an application can be an effective and efficient tool to help any non-profit advance projects undertaken by their far-flung volunteers. And in addition to file transfer and one-to-one voice and text-based conversations, Skype also has additional capabilities, such as instant message group chats with up to 100 people, free voice conference calls with up to four people and video calls. Skype is also used as the preferred VoIP application by notable podcasters, where an interview format is used. Assuming you are not using a more advanced set-up (such as a firewire-based interface and/or mixer with XLR mics and headphones) Skype, or any VoIP application works best with a headset, preferably a USB-based headset such as the Plantronics DSP line. If you are experiencing poor voice communication when using Skype, try setting up port forwarding on your router/ firewall to enable a direct connection. Through static port forwarding, a static port is assigned for Skype to use (in this configuration, to prevent Skype from becoming a server, do not leave your application running). For more information about routers, ports, security and setting up port forwarding for your specific router for Skype, please see the following resources: Port Forward: Setting up your Router or Firewall http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm Security Now (Podcast) Listener Feedback Q&A #6 http://media.grc.com/sn/SN-036-lq.mp3 Listener Feedback Q&A #7 http://media.grc.com/sn/SN-040-lq.mp3 NAT Traversal http://media.grc.com/sn/SN-042-lq.mp3 Open Ports http://media.grc.com/sn/SN-043-lq.mp3 Shields Up (Computer Port Security Scan) http://www.grc.com/default.htm As a reminder, all calls from Skype to landlines and cell phones within the US and Canada are also free until December 31, 2006. MYS has been successfully utilizing highly-skilled online volunteers from around the globe to enhance their programs and services since 1998. GIMP 2.3 Tutorial - The User Interface

Filed under: Videos — Admin @

This video explains the user interface of the GIMP. The goal of the tutorial is to make you understand how the user interface works, so that you can explore GIMP without being hindered by the user interface. Excuse my abuse of the word 'and'. At 2:48 when I say 'layers', I mean 'dialogs'. The sentence should read: "This is where I usually grab my dialogs." == Tutorial FAQ == Q: I only have one window :( What's wrong? A: By default GIMP is configured to save window positions on exit. If you only get one window when you start GIMP, that's what the saved window configuration is. You can reset this to default by going to 'File / Preferences / Window Management' and clicking the 'Reset Saved Window Positions to Default Values' button. Here you can also disable that GIMP should save window configuration on exit, as well as save current window configuration. This way you can make sure that GIMP will always start with a specific window configuration independant of the window configuration you had when you closed GIMP. == Technical/Misc information == The video was created with recordMyDesktop and MEncoder, recorded on the Ubuntu linux distribution (version 6.10) And yeah, unfortunately the sound quality sucks, but I don't feel like a re-recording. Feel free to spread the video in YouTube-embedded format as much as you like.
